| Base on the large number of Huizhou documents (official dispatches) and
cultural remains, Hui study whose primary object of study is the history
and culture of Huizhou is s comprehensive subject, which aims at having a
deep insight into Chinese history and culture.
Huizhou documents found in the 1950s have aroused great interest in the academic field. Huizhou documents, no less than 300,000, include various contracts, scale pictures, lawsuits records, etc. Which are important historical data, pending further utilization to make research on the economic history, social history and cultural history of Chinese feudal society.
The cultural remains of Huizhou are also very rich. About 5,000
historical remains are still preserved in Huangshan city today,including
ancient villages, architectures, gateways, academy of classical learning,
bridges, verandas, etc.
